re: I agree with you

When you point out that:

The "knee" in the curve which, to me, signals an influence of human contributions seems to appear around 1950, which makes sense. If you look at it from that standpoint, I would make a guess that without any human contributions at all, following the straight line of the pre-1950 CO2 levels, current natural CO2 levels would be at about 330 ppm.

I lived through that time period and lots of things happened in those years, that is around 1950 onward.
Coal powered steam locomotives were replaced by diesel engines.
Coal was replaced by fuel oil, natural gas or electricity for home heating
Cars were being built with large V8 engines.
Russians sent a satellite into orbit.
Nuclear bombs were exploded in the atmosphere.
Nuclear power plants were constructed to generate electrical power.

I’m not sure where the large quantities of Carbon Dioxide were generated that is recorded on those graphs.

Was it the baby boom that simply generated a greater consumption of fossil fuels?

There are other bits of information that also are interesting, but that subject is too explosive and seems to be banned from HZ, so I’ll refrain from explaining any further.
