What made you decide it was time to move from 2k to xp?
I've only upgraded the os once, going from win95 to win98. My machines get all the patches and service packs, of course, but they tend to depart this world running the same base os with which they came into being.
Sorry to hear your having issues with xp. I always found it stable and cooperative. Vista (which I'm using right now) has been an adventure. The number of fixes this machine has swallowed is truly impressive, and though vista is now *much* happier trying to run older software, there's been a price to be paid on the stability front...this computer has seized up tight as Her Majesty's flagship at least twice in the last couple of months--something that never happened once in the 6 months or so prior. True, it might be the os at fault...but little else has changed in the last while.
