Convincing
The only things I'm trying to "convince" people of is that most people in America find the current system works for them, and that socializing the health care system even further is not the way to fix any real problems we do have. If anything, we need to figure out ways to bring market forces back into it.
I also have no problem with government programs designed ONLY to assist people who cannot deal with their own health costs through either poverty or special circumstances. Theoretically, such systems already exist in the form of Medicare and Medicaid. We spend many billions on these programs every year.
