the scared center

The far right and left feed each other. The further left the far left gets the more scared rightcentrists feel which compels them them to vote furter right to counter it. And vice versa.

If the far left and far right would quit obtaining leadership roles and using scare tactics then centrists would feel more comfortable voting for other centrists. Its a chicken egg scenario. We need more centrists in government, but can't vote for them because the extremists scare the crap out of us.

I'll tell you right now, that the democratic nominees talk about leaving Iraq in 60 days after the election is very scary to this right centrist. If they would tone it down and start talking some sense, than I wouldn't mind having somebody like Obama as president. Instead they are not being sensible and they all scare me.

Since I'm not left of center I won't try to expound on what scares left centrists into voting further left than they normally would, but it would be interesting to hear.

As for McCain I could vote for him easily, though right now I'd prefer to vote Romney. Huckabee will never get my vote, ever.
