Pretty much my views on it, including the "no easy answers" part.
I don't think the Federal government needs to get involved on either the pro or anti side. That's been my view on the legality issue of abortion, too. I particularly oppose the idea of Constitutional amendments on things like this, which many conservatives seem to be enthusiastic about.
I looked at the Oregon law while looking into the assisted suicide subject, and they seem to have quite rigid rules on how these things are carried out, including extensive documentation requirements. It's why they have such good statistics on it.
