I have carefully pointed out the actual numbers on vague statements like "Add in the costs of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and the growing costs of Medicare and Social Security." Look at how much each one costs per year, and which one we'll still be paying for thirty years from now.

I've pointed that about two-thirds of the Federal Budget is direct wealth redistribution, mostly to the elderly.

I've pointed out that the wealthy pay almost all the income taxes already.

No rational person can possibly look at how our current budget is laid out and claim that somehow it's all to benefit the rich.

I've pointed out that the Federal budget has grown far faster than any reasonable concept of actual needs of the country. Currently twice what it was during the Carter years in constant dollars.

But by all means, keep electing people who think the government still isn't spending nearly enough, and we can find the money "somehow." That we can fix things by adding the entire health care system to the budget, and "tax the rich" to find the money. Idiots.
