It's not impossible, but it's unlikely the hydrocarbons would be long-chain organics. There are some people who think there are enormous amounts of abiotic methane deep in the crust. A limitless source of fossil fuel if we could just drill down far enough to pump it out. Very hard and hot rocks down there...

The last I heard they were drilling somewhere in Scandinavia through miles of granite but still didn't find any.
