I really didn't want to interrupt, but I will anyway.
Everyone's first motivation is self-interest. The government employees are the same folks as those working for the corporations - only not as talented or smart. A government job is a known easy ride. Once you're on you have to screw up royally to get fired. It attracts loafers and parasites. Folks in for the long haul of low output and the comfy pension.
Yeah, harsh.
Yeah, true.
So these folks have a long grind on the low burner and some of the more ambitious and educated figure they can move up the government ladder for a slightly bigger cut of the public budget. These are NOT the friends of the masses, even if they convince themselves about the "public servant" spiel. These are the ones, more often than not, jealous of everybody who has more than they do, while they simultaneously aspire to make more as well. They appeal to the lowest classes and lowest intelligence and try to stir up envy and "fair" wealth distribution.
Sure not all fit in this category, but the premise that government is in existence to keep the private sector honest, you're seriously deluding yourself - or are yourself a career "public servant". ;-)
How do I know this? Well, I know
