They will lobby, fund politicians, advertise, and bribe. They have the money, do you really expect them not to use it?
This can't happen if government and business aren't intertwined. They can only bride politicians if those politicians have the power to make it worthwhile. As Tom pointed out, why don't the clergy bride Congress?
