I'd like to know what's turning yours.

What motivates you to come here day after day trying so hard to convince everyone that only you and no one else can see the light?

I can only suspect that is isn't the only place you go to carry on this crusade, either. What could possibly drive you to be so desperate to spread this faith? You must read every single post looking for the slightest deviation from your orthodoxy. When you can't find any, you start one designed specifically to provoke an indignant response. Even your most neutral comments rarely lack some reference to your cause. And you engage every single attack personally, sometimes devoting great effort and research to counter it, even when it originates from some wacko who even your strongest opponents don't take seriously.

All events are analyzed from this point of view, everything is confirmation of your personal revelation. The fact that others refuse to see what is so clearly obvious to you infuriates you, but you can't seem to come up with any coherent explanation why this should be so. Your attempts to explain it, mysterious mass delusions instigated by unexplained unconscious cabals and sinister informal conspiracies who leave no trace or evidence, don't even begin to strike you as ridiculous as they do everyone else. Your frustration leaps from the screen, "How could they be so dense so as to not see this? I've explained it over and over again."

And you seem loathe to accept any variation or modulation of your program, it has to be your way. You see no compromise, no halfway point, no possible explanation of any slight disagreement is perhaps a mere difference in interpretation. No, your opponents must admit they are totally mistaken, that what they have spent a lifetime trying to understand is simply a waste of time because you already know.

Suspending for the time being any value judgement of just what it is you believe, let us look for a moment simply at how you believe it and how you talk about it. A study of your behavior and committment and your insistence on communicating your world view leads to only one conclusion. This is a behavior associated normally with anomalism, with cults, and with fanaticism.

You don't just have political or economic beliefs, you just don't think others are mistaken about theirs; you find it impossible to understand how anyone could possibly be so deliberately ignorant and stupid to not believe exactly like you do. This is more like a religious faith.

If I were a Freudian, I would have a ready-made explanation. You obviously have severe subconscious misgivings about your beliefs and you feel compelled to publicly display your own internal doubts and struggles with them, disguised as an aggressive assault on the infidels who you actually identify with, although you dare never admit it to yourself. But I never accepted Freud, and I resist the temptation to reduce you to some priest undergoing a crisis of faith in a Tennessee Wiliams play.

I've met many people before who believe as strongly as you do about something, from all over the political and economic and philosophical spectra. They've always amazed me because even though I have beliefs of my own, I've never felt the need to proselytize them. But I have met only one other person who was so determined to convert everyone else. I've even known religious evangelicals without your missionary zeal. It's really quite extraordinary.

I can only speculate why this should be so. My guess is some personal experience, some great injustice that was visited on you and caused this single-mindednes. I can accept that, I've had some experiences like that myself, or I've seen them visited on others I loved. I can't deny that these memories created prejudices which colored my thinking and influenced my logic. But this is only human, everyone has experiences like this and they eventually learn to process them, even if they can't integrate them fully. But the enigma that is TB goes much deeper than that. And it really isn't any of my business, anyway.
