Nixon was a character.
The left despised him for Watergate, but other Presidents had done similar or worse political shenanigans and no one blinked. He had the integrity to fall on his sword and did not cling to power at all costs.
Nixon went to South America and got spat at by mobs of America hating collectivists. He went to the USSR and defended capitalism in front of Khruschev. He went to China and helped pave the way to the quasi-capitalist China we deal with everyday:
Nixon did OK in my book. That he didn't cheat on Pat or Tricia and Julie, is part of that.
