I remember hearing all about Watergate as a kid. When I found out what it was really about, I thought, “Is that it? Big deal. Other presidents before him have done far worse. Can we say JFK camp getting dead Chicago people to vote for him and LBJ getting dead Texans to do the same?
I don’t think Nixon ordered breaking into the DNC headquarters at Watergate, but I do think when he found out about it, he did lie, and that was wrong.
He was a man of integrity. He later said he choose to step down because he felt impeachment hearings would hurt America (The same reason he never asked for a recount on the very close JFK/Nixon election).
He is okay in my book.
