There is no possible outcome in Iraq over the next twenty years that will ever be identified as a victory by the angry Left.
...whatever it is that anyone else outside of the right wing wants is tantamount to failure, retreat, aiding and comforting the enemy- whatever.
Don't know how anyone could possibly come to that conclusion after the actions of the American Left over the past five years.
The Democrats spent much of 2007 trying to shut the surge down in its tracks and force the troops home in the face of increased violence. Not surprising they don't want to bring it up in 2008.
