Of course, the actual mechanics of travel to China, never mind being allowed to "spread out" and interact with the population, are a bit more complex. It would have been even worse in the Soviet Union.

I'm still trying to figure out why the American Left has fixated on Tibet as the Poster Nation for oppression by tyranny. Although it is refreshing to see them lean on a communist nation for a change.
