I'm still trying to figure out why the American Left has fixated on Tibet as the Poster Nation for oppression by tyranny.

Naturally, the American Right would only elevate a country to that status if it had "strategic resources" within its borders... and would only try to do something about it if said country were perceived as a military pushover.

The oppression of Tibet has a religious basis. Do you not see the inconsistency in supporting Israel's self-determination, but not Tibet's?
