Even if a Republican is elected President, and the GOP holds their majorities in Congress and State legislatures and governors, the VRWC indeed has a life of its own. It won't stop once they control the conversation and like all institutions and bureaucracies it has its own internal dynamic, unrelated to ideology. It will continue to want to grow, continue to expand its influence, desire to become more profitable. There are paychecks and careers wedded to it, and it has a constituency that will not let itself disappear just because they've won. Not only will they make life miserable for Liberals, they cannot continue to prosper without Liberals to persecute, so Conservatives themselves will become targets if they are not considered Conservative enough. Just look around now and see how many long-established right wing personalities are now considered
RINOs, moderates, establishment or otherwise apostate.
Excuse me if I sound paranoid, but I don't want to live in a country where the standard of political correctness is that the world was created in six days six thousand years ago, and anyone who believes otherwise is Communist revolutionary who deserves to be silenced, if not exterminated altogether.
And yeah, I know there are atheist Conservatives, but can you name one now prominent on the Right(other than Ayn Rand)?
