Funny, if a bit sad, how Obama got hammered for fumbling an attempt to show empathy with small town America, but when we see crap like that from Republicans, we just shrug, and say, "what're ya gonna do? That's just how they are." We expect unadorned bigotry and hatred from the Right.
The Republican attack ad, more than anything else, reveals the phobias and bigotry and hatred of the Right. The choir will eat up the preaching just because it drips hatred of Liberals, but I wonder how the undecided will see it? Republicans might think it's shocking to see images of Liberals partying and having a good time (and counting out stacks of $100 bills), but the less demented might see something attractive there. How ya gonna keep 'em down on the RightWing farm once they've seen the bright lights and gold-paved streets of Liberalism?
Yep, I think it's a harbinger of things to come. Everyone knows the Republican "brand" is tarnished, perhaps beyond redemption--what else can they do but lash out indiscriminately and go down shrieking hatred and defiance?
