I am a very patient person, but I have defended Bush long enough. If he wants my support now, he is going to have to earn it. I am done with him. I know he is worn out. He has aged a lot these last 8 years, but he is still president. He can still make a difference. There is no excuse not to keep trying.
Yes, he is a likable guy and I think he does love America. I still feel he is a good guy who tries to do the right thing, but he is too obsessed with fighting terrorist. I feared this long ago. I saw how 9/11 hurt him. I saw that deep pain in his eyes. He felt the guilt for it happing under his watch. He took it too personal, and now it has consumed him. And it saddens me. He was such a good governor, and he started out as a good president, but 9/11 changed him.
Energy Indepenmdence is too important to not fight for, and if he can’t do it, then I am done with him and I am moving on to McCain or Obama. And it wouldn't hurt congress to help out, but they are not doing anything either. No one in Washington is. Both parties are guilty of this.
I understand this enough to know that this energy problem could really hurt America. It already is hurting us. It’s only going to get worse. And it’s going to hurt Republicans, Democrats…everyone. I have horrible visions of what it could do to this country.
Being in control of our own energy needs is the only way to stop this.
The solution seems simple enough…and very doable. And I guess that is what is frustrating. Why are we not doing it. The longer we drag our heals, the worse it’s going to get.
Yes, we do need a leader. One that not only shares this view, but can rally the rest of the country behind it.
I like McCain’s plan overall, but I don’t like that he won’t drill in Alaska. He said he is an environmentalist and doesn’t want to drill in ANWR because it is a National Wildlife Refuge. I am also an environmentalist, but I don’t have a problem with it. With today’s technology and decades of drilling experience we should be able to do it safely.
McCain did say Energy Independence is our nation’s top priority. Let’s see if his actions back that up.
I have not heard much on Obama’s take on this topic, but I would be very interested to hear it and see his actions as well.
I don’t want empty promises on this. I want action.
