Again - Right on.
I like McCain’s plan overall, but I don’t like that he won’t drill in Alaska. He said he is an environmentalist and doesn’t want to drill in ANWR because it is a National Wildlife Refuge. I am also an environmentalist, but I don’t have a problem with it. With today’s technology and decades of drilling experience we should be able to do it safely.Your right about ANWR. I have driven the road from Fairbanks to Prudhoe bay and it is the most desolate 500 miles of rock and gravel I have ever been on. The environmentalists have got this *way* wrong and I consider myself a tree hugger. You could drill almost anywhere on the North Slope and only disturb a few million (billion) misquotes.
Lets make it clear. I am an Obama supporter but I will vote for McCain if he comes out with strong support for nuclear development. That's our only hope as I see it. Drilling in ANWR will only postpone our national pain as fuel and the price of food moves up another 20% because of the failure of our national leadership to move us to nuclear energy.
Yes - nuclear byproducts are a problem but that's a technical problem - the kind that we as a nation are good at solving. Political problems like our relationship with the rest of the world is where we have a hard time.
Will somebody with some balls step up to the plate - PLEASE
