Israelis regard the entire area as their own, given to them by God, and that Palestinians should be treated like dogs. Before the intifada, the Israelis were killing 25 Palestinians for every Israeli lost. That's about the percentage of Native Americans killed to US military lost during that genocide.
Israel needs to be encouraged to live in the 21st century and within her boundaries. The Palestinians need and deserve their own state. And the role of the US should, but won't, be to see that each respects the other's legitimate interests.
As it is, Israel has nukes, armor, air power, artillery, naval power and a large army and control over the territory. They inflict all manner of inconveniences and humiliations upon the Palestinians, whose efforts to fight back are as pathetic as they are understandable.
As far as the "drive into the sea" nonsense, who has the nukes? Who robs Palestinian banks at will? Who bombs and strafes, or fires artillery at random.
And the Palestinians are reduced to those miserable little rockets, which, if one wounds someone, makes headlines in the US.
The US should be an arbiter, mediator, and enforcer rather than financing the Israelis.
And the Jewish people I know believe exactly as I do. Some I've talked with will say that God has ordained the extermination of the Palestinians and that's really sad. But the way it goes.
