The "Greens" are the issue. You might have brilliant ideas and be pro-nuclear, but oddly, you don't seem to be running our energy policy any more than I am.

I see a Democratic Party, one likely to be even more powerful in a year, whose solutions include attacking the producers, suing the Middle East, taxing combustion, and blocking carbon, nuclear, and hydroelectric on all levels including production, new plants, and transmission.

Their ideas basically boil down to butchering the current energy industry, taking all that loot, and passing some ethereal energy miracle with it. No nuclear, of course. This appeals to those in our country that have been trained to believe that the government can do anything if you just give it an infinite amount of money. Look at how well they've spent it so far in energy matters.

I have never suggested that we can drill our way to energy independence. I know the numbers better than you do. But "jacking up" production now, and more importantly, sending the pricing signal around the world that we're going to have a domestic energy industry again, can buy us the time we need to ramp up things like nuclear facilities, assuming the same congenital idiots blocking our current energy resources ever allow us to build any.

You see, I live out here in the real world. I'm not dealing with your energy policy, or RLs, or anyone else's here. I have to deal with Pelosi and the rest of the same technological and industrial ignoramuses who put us here in the first place.

These people ARE the issue. Ignore it if you want to.
