True or false, Oil is a finite resource?
True or false, our requirements for energy are not finite, at least by projecting from history.
True or false, Technological and economic growth require growth in energy input, and have so throughout the entire history of man.
True or false, definitionally a finite resource can not provide unlimited growth.
True or false, continued economic growth will eventually be thwarted by oil.
Do the math, Then you come back and tell me if it is 'short term thinking' to believe that we can just jack up production of a finite resource in order to attain infinite growth in energy supply. Hmmm?
I know you're screaming like a little brat that just got told no more ice cream, but thats not going to change- we either get off Oil now (and Coal fairly soon), and get onto renewables like Nuclear, Solar, Wind and etc, or we sooner or later hit an economic wall.
And see? I didn't even have to vomit up a link to someTiredOldConservative nutblog or Blind Partisan website to argue my point.
