Is it fair to those of us that successfully put ourselves through college?
I worked 58 hours a week at close to minimum wage every summer. Working precision sheet metal. I ended up with $2500 in student debt at 8.5%.
I feel if kids get a free ride it will be another tax payer paid daycare like pre-school is today. Paying for your own education drives you to do well, not just party all the time. The cost is a reality check.
Maybe some assistance could be given to high school students that maintain a high grad point average in the 3.5 to 4.0 range with a set requirement for pre- college classes. Some assistance in community college to give them a taste of the workload.
