I don't have time for a thoughtful reply, and doing this via phone is something less than convenient, but I just wanted to point out that your remark about parasites is, imho, an overstatement.
I have no such sentiments toward the wealthy in general. I *do* think, however, that the wealthy who skimp on their responsibilities are somewhat parasitic. And paying taxes is a responsibility. It's a valid and important part of how our system works, and yes I'm familiar with the history of taxation. The redistribution of wealth is part of the construct of our civilization.
Like "failure," it's not an option.
