Depends on the admin
Under Bush, taxes have become both a political and literal weapon, something John W. McCain has all but vowed to continue.
I've paid some pretty serious coin in taxes over the last decade, and this year I'm going to pay about 20% more, in dollar terms, than I've ever paid before. That's just a fact, not a complaint. I'm *proud* to be able to make a contribution that will help people who need help.
My only problem with any of this is that under Bush's Weaponized Tax Plan, part of my contribution is being used to kill innocent people. Apparently though, those are the only conditions under which the right is ok with paying taxes.
