We already do pick up the tab - at the State level. Food Stamps, free or low cost healthcare the works.

Why rolling back massive tax cuts for the richest percent of our country while cutting taxes for everyone else is EVIL SOCIALISM, when the richest 1 percent has been busy shoveling their money by the steambucket load into offshore accounts, tax havens and investments in other countries?

Precisely because it's impossible to successfully tax the very rich. I explained on flame exactly what happens when corporate taxes are raised and the folks paying the "rich" tax hikes are almost always the guys whose real life wealth is basically upper middle-class. And those dwindling folks are often the ones whose money supports others who are low income earners. One ends up missing the target and screwing over the poor - indirectly.

Not everyone is fine with Bush's spending. The IRAQ war and occupation was about securing oil to counter the speculative bubble and compensate for the election of Socialists in our big 1990s supplier of oil, Brazil, at the close of the Clinton era. The war was only partially successful in doing so. It is likely it focused our enemies on what our real weakness was.

And healthcare will cost FAR, FAR more than a war on two fronts. And the healthcare it will provide will be the sort where the doctor looks at you after a week waiting for an appt, says you are fine, and then sends you packing with a placebo made in China with melamine.

It's obvious if we subtly coerce them to sell oil to us - we should rebuild their infrastructure and try to get some semblance of democracy in place in the middle east outside of Israel to compensate them. Other nations in Europe bought the oil for cheap bribes to the dictator - we are going the distance and trying to actually to do more than just build palaces and statues. It probably WILL work. Nobody here on the right was for the bailout. I CELEBRATED when I learned it had failed the first time. The politicians of both parties showed they are ONE party when the money debts are called due by their bankrollers. This should have been YOUR wake up call that we are screwed regardless and "partisan" hopes for change are misdirected energy and time.

Well I expect folks to listen to me because I understand what's going on and the causes. I explain it in long painful detail. I explain how our economy is being thrashed by cheap labor and I explain how the greedy CEOs and companies now simply seek to accumulate cash and not generate wealth for America. I repeatedly point out that both parties are beholden to the banks - the bailout vote PROVES that.

And the Congress has been DNC for the past almost 2 years. The economy is the government's fault ONLY in as much as it has failed to secure our national borders and turn a blind eye to GLARING antitrust mergers over the past 35 years - dating back to the Carter years.
