The Republican Party has lost its conservative foundation. It has become the Democrat-Lite party. The only real conservatives I see are the few in the House of Representatives that voted against the bailout bill.
Palin was McCain’s attempt to bring in some conservatives.
I would like to see the Republican Party find its conservative roots when it comes to smaller government.
I don’t need much Federal Government in my life. Just protect my country and leave me enough money in my paycheck so I can support my family.
So the Republican Party can go two ways. It can become a shadow of the Democrat party (In which it will never win another election- why vote for a poor copy when you can vote for the real thing?) Or it can become a true conservative party again.
