Flame » in reply to The Left, and the RINOs, are still scared of her.

Scared of her? Hardly. Scared of the people supporting her still.

Palin's an intellectual lightweight, manipulative and greedy beyond compare. That was clear a week or two after her "crowning" if one did a bit of homework. If she succeeds in retaining her role as the future of the Republican Party, she'll do tremendous damage to an already reeling establishment.

What worries me is not people like her. It's this vast group of Americans willing to throw themselves behind anyone that says the word "Jesus" enough times, and aligns themselves with fundamentalist wedge issues. I had "friends" who I believed to be intelligent human beings who shocked me when they said recently that they really liked her and thought her a great pick for VP. When you prodded them for their source of information on her, it was clear most of it came from conservative news sources such as Fox or talk radio cretins like Rush Limbaugh. There was also another constant thread and that was their church. Over and over this election I heard of instances where preachers and ministers across the country broke past that line and equated their parishioner's level of faith with who they'd vote for in the booth.

Even more powerful with low information voters than questioning their patriotism is throwing religious guilt and damnation their way. The idiot voters who bonded with Sarah Palin partly because she went forth and multiplied and invoked the name "Jesus" more than most of us seem to forget that Jesus would have thrown her out with the money changers.
