lord knows it got plenty of airtime- but...
Please. "Airtime" that consists of "stop annoying our candidate with these accusations" doesn't count. I remember someone here trying to pull the same "airtime" gag with the Swift Boat case. All the mainstream airtime for that was stories attacking the Swift Boat Veterans.
The Washington Post admitted that they basically avoided any real investigation of the Democratic ticket. Obama and Biden sailed past things that would have had a Republican's hide hanging on the wall.
Wright became a story only because Hillary was still in the race at the time, and had media sympathizers.
Odds are excellent that if the alternative media didn't exist, nobody in America would even know who Ayers was. Or anything else about Obama that didn't come from his campaign web page.
And after what happened to Palin, the words "dirty campaign" should not even pass your lips.

- Scared of her? We're delighted with her! God, I hope she runs in 2012! (n/t)
- That's coming from you Conservatives. She's the best you have. (n/t)
- Didn't I hear or read that she also bought a bunch of clothes for her kids on the Republican charge card so to speak? (n/t)
- Heh, heh. This is NOT from "The Onion". Not made up. And how she handled her staff.
