Oh, it's all true. Making nice, the moral high road, "can't we all just get along" kind of thing. It's what the country needs. And it will happen, though not because some Conservative begs for mercy.
The article is simply boilerplate for bullies when the tables are turned. Compromise used to be a dirty word. As evidenced in the last 8 years of Conservative "kiss my ass" attitudes and actions, it's a sucker handshake. Watch professional wrestling on TV for a graphic.
Obama did get a mandate. A very forceful mandate. Do not follow the tactics of the last 8 years, stop the follies of the religious extremists and their greedy cohorts, move the country out of the 19th century into the 21st.
I agree with the guy. I believe it is time to be as inclusive as possible in a real sense. Not Bush's sense, which asked "can't we all get along and agree with me", but work together on common goals, compromising if necessary so that maybe 80% get 80% of what they want rather than 5% getting everything. Even though up to now "compromise" has been a dirty word to Conservatives.
While "turnabout may be fair play", the country deserves better than the extremist tactics of the last administration, and Obama should and I believe will run it differently. It takes a strong, principled leader to work toward the common good and goals rather than impose an ideology no matter where it takes us.
Putting "country first", not just saying it. I believe Obama will actually do that. But not because of some new-found Conservative "do as I say and not as I do" morality but because it is the decent thing to do. It's called democracy.

A "do as I say not as I do" fluff piece. And Obama will do it, because it's the decent thing.
