I'm all for finding out facts. To this day we have folks living in fear for what was found out about the UN in the global oil for food scandal. The players are not nice people and they don't like being exposed.

What so few have acknowledged is that when Sarkozy came to power in France and started dealing with the US behind the scenes about Iraq, and after we convinced the Iraqis to dole out a billion dollars worth of contracts to TOTAL after not so vague threats to the Iraqis, the car bombings and attacks on Iraq government targets & our troops dried up. The surge had little to do with the change in Iraq, except show that we were committed to the region. The insurgency was a corporate funded insurgency. The war, after the toppling, was entirely funded and supplied by Saddam's old european corporate buddies.

Facts are often uncomfortable things and they tend to burden many who uncover them.
