"The officials commented in response to a report published in Thursday's Orlando Sentinel. The account said Griffin had been scripting NASA employees on what they could tell the Obama aides and had rallied NASA contractors to try to protect the current plan for exploring the moon before going to Mars and other planets.

"The claim is false," said Mould, the agency's spokesman. "The administrator urges full and free cooperation with the transition team by all entities doing business with NASA."

A representative of an aerospace trade organizagtion denied that NASA's contractors had received any coaching from Griffin.

"There has not been any pressure or anything like that," said Dean Acosta , of the Coalition for Space Exploration, which represents 40 aerospace contractors and a dozen advocacy groups.

Spokesman for companies under contract to NASA insisted their executives have not been coached by Griffin."
