re: NASA Admin Griffin Obstructing Obama Transition Team. - Direct human spaceflight...

Direct human spaceflight to the moon still needs development, apparently... long duration as it may. As you and most of us here know, they've only just begun testing ECLSS (Environmental Control System and Life Support System) on STS 126. Frankly, up to now, I always thought that they had an existing water recycling (reverse osmosis) onboard, but there you go. I'm still confused about that, but I'm guessing that they still had to spew the human wasted part outboard. So, now they are looking into recycling as much H2O as possible, so that there is less to be sent to the ISS or even the Moon or Mars for that matter.

Needless to say, ECLSS is and has just been introduced to development aboard the ISS.

There's more to be tested and along that is that new, fully enclosed moon roaver that will be able to keep away as much moon dust as possible. It may come in handy on Mars.

We'll see, (hopefully in our lifetimes).
