Usually the conversation gets vituperatous, and is an easy call. In this case it seems that the moderator disagreed with the "science" and thought it belonged on the fairy tale board. Which is what moderators are for.
It was so refreshing to not have the visciousness as we've had in the past that I thought it was an interesting thread. I learn from those discourses better than from straight textbook stuff. From my point of view it was a valid thread, even if the premise was wrong. Sort of like starting a discussion based upon the statement, "Irish people don't drink much and don't have a sense of humor." Clearly nonsense, but a place to start. Someone who didn't know anything about the Irish or humor would have learned.
HAVING SAID THAT, someone with a more formal and extensive background regarded that thread as pure BS and moved it. I can't disagree - that board is for those more sophisticated than I. I can see that for some it wouldn't be a close call at all.

Without disagreeing with Nick's call, there's a fine line there I'm having trouble identifying.
The whole thread (42 posts)
- A suggestion of mine for any theoretical physicist lurking.
- It depends on the density of matter.
- Is there no room for learning, differing opinions, even errors on the Space board?
