that we're witnessing an ego and messianic complex beyond any we could imagine.
I heard a caller yesterday on talk radio say she believed he wouldn't pardon any of his cohorts preemptively because that would be an admission of guilt, a verification of all the horrific things said about him.
It's been obvious over the past few weeks that Bush is a man deeply concerned right now with his legacy and is telling anyone that will listen that, with the exception of a few tiny blunders, he did it all the right way. I've seen people way too many people like him in my life that can actually lie to themselves because the look into their own dark side is too chilling.
The assumption of that trait is being kind. The alternative is that his evils are fully realized and accepted by him and that he has a childish sense of immortality still, the kind of thing that causes teenage drivers to often end up in cemeteries. It is possible that he's been rescued so many times in his life by his family's wealth, power, and influence that it will continue to protect him.
All I know is that as that helicopter lifts off today, the majority of our country will reward him with a one finger salute.
