Caucuses in Congress are composed of members with similar interests and similar legislative agendas.
African-Americans have distinctive problems and issues because of their history here. It's to their advantage to caucus together to discuss these issues and legislative strategy. Other ethnic groups have organized with similar objectives. The Sons of Hibernia: obviously a racist organization.
Hispanics have common interests based on linguistic issues, and to a lesser extent, cultural ones. "Hispanic" is not a race, for God's sake. Culturally, Hispanic citizens are as likely to have serious differences as to be in agreement. Solicit the opinion of a Puerto Rican about Cubans, or vice versa, or ask them both about Dominicans. None of these nationalities, incidentally, are Mexican, nor Spanish.
So, these "racist" Congressional organizations, do they bar any member's white spouse or date from their activities? Do they invite white politicians and other individuals to attend? If whites are allowed to attend, do members make whites use a separate bathroom and sit at separate tables?
You will have to stop judging other groups by the behaviors of yourself and your friends.
