"Us vs. Them"

Bush is gone. Cheney is gone. They're all gone. The President is a liberal Democrat. Liberal Democrats run the House and Senate. There are no Gingriches in the House, and the person who ran against Obama is going to be one of Obama's closest allies.

Now what?

There's a big hole in your worldview where the scapegoat used to be. What are you going to fill it with? Oh, you can keep blaming Bush for a while, like a primitive shaman waving a bedraggled effigy of the Evil One around, and claiming the only reason the Evil One didn't ruin the hunt and make the crops die is because the brave shaman sacrificed a chicken during the full moon. I'm not supposed to make fun of this kind of thinking?

"...all kinds of challenges that will have no concrete solutions." Odd. For eight years, the concrete solution we were presented--day in and day out--for all of those problems was to get rid of Bush and the Republicans. Vote for Obama and paradise would result.

Bush is gone. Obama is in charge. So now the problems suddenly become "unsolvable?"

The effigy will fall apart soon. At some point your side is going to have to learn to use brains instead of spleens. Now what?

And incidentally:

CEOs. Bankers. Neocons. Right wingers. Racists. White people. Zionists. The rich. fascists. Homophobes. Corporations. It's a very long list.

Let's talk about demonization. It has been a hallmark of "progressives" my entire life. Do I need to show the demonstration photos, the writings, the countless examples?

That you can honestly rail about "us vs. them" and "hateful and violent rhetoric" with a straight face tells me you're not perceptive enough for this conversation.
