Actually...Thiokol just forced solid rocket boosters on the Shuttle, and it stopped

If NASA has of been permitted to go with the Liquid Rocket Boosters,
Arianespace never would have happened.

The US would be the world's leader in low cost launch,
and our sat manufacturers would have no competrition either
