They have two problems. One is a "NO COMPROMISE" philosophy.
You read it here all the time. Republicans believe compromise is for fools, my way or the highway, you can't reason with tyrants, fools or anyone with whom they disagree. (Now they scream for "compromise" which means they still want it all their way.)
The other matter is that they do no want anything to go to the middle- and lower-classes. If it all goes directly to the wealthy they are happy. No compromise on their part.
