Obama owns the House and Senate. If all the Republicans vote against him in the House, and all but a couple vote against him in the Senate, he still gets what he wants. Why worry? Are you honestly concerned that the Republicans will die out? A week ago, everybody here was looking forward to it.

If this massive spending bill is such a brilliant idea, why the need to pretend that this is the result of a consensus?
