re: Katrina deja vu
1) People need to learn how to take care of themselves until help arrives or the situation improves. They should be prepared to survive on their for more than a week imo.
2) Emergency care is job of the states and local government. Kansas is doing ok and is only requesting federal funds.
3) Obviously from the Katrina experience, we need to improve the federal response to major hurricanes and earthquakes. The response should match the scale of damage.
