I've seen the "largest tax cut in American history" meme on many liberal websites. Yet according to many of the same liberals, Bush's tax cuts "cost" the government trillions. These can't both be right.
It's hilarious watching the Democrats trying to sell the Republicans as being against tax cuts.
Remember that one major reason Republicans voted against the stimulus was that there weren't enough tax cuts. The New York Times covers what actually happened. Note that Republicans were all about tax cuts during the debate, and actually were the ones who forced the AMT fix into the bill.
You can also find a lot of news stories about Obama extending an "olive branch" to Republicans by putting tax cuts in.
One Democrat voted against the stimulus because there were too MANY tax cuts, and he wasn't the only liberal complaining about that.
I'm not going to see much of that tax cut, and neither is anyone else. The drop in oil prices will put more cash into the public's pocket than Obama's tax cut will, but then he can't take credit for that, can he?
