between a sharing of ideas and actual debate and this endless stream of completely one-sided propaganda that comes from Tom, then maybe you're right and people that truly want to discuss the issues have no place on here. I for one feel that that kind of crap has no place on a forum that's about the exchange of ideas and if you don't smack down that kind of behavior harshly in this political climate, the wingnuts end up feeling empowered and flourish.

You're damned right it's browbeating Rob because it's the only thing that seems to work on here. Without it Tom goes into assembly line mode spewing out these Limbaughisms with impunity and fills page after page with neo-con talking points. There's plenty of places on the web where one can go if they want to wade in that crap so my comment was simply that he go fill up that cesspool instead.

Instead on here I constantly see Tom treated as if he has a legitimacy to his posts because he seems to spend a great deal of time in research and doesn't make grammatical errors. If that's going to be the prevailing attitude then you sorely need someone like me shouting "bullshit" from the rooftops. In other words, if you want people like me to be more civil, maybe all the rest of you ought to challenge this crap a bit more and call it what it truly is.

And don't worry a bit Rob. My yelling for Tom to hit the road won't cause him to leave. I never imagined that it would. Just like Lee and Techie, guys like Tom define their lives by the chaos they can create in places like this and it's like a sexual thrill to be a thorn in people's sides. If he took off he'd have to go into rehab much as if a heroin addict went cold turkey.
