The a-hole part

doesn't come from simply doing research and imparting your wisdom on us here. It comes from carefully spinning the snippets of data you find to neglect huge portions of the big picture and completely distort the topic. It also comes from the constant barrage of disparaging insinuations you make towards your opponents.

Greedy comes from the eventual goal of that manipulation. It's very obvious your philosophy is not to conserve but is instead to remove all governmental influence and societal responsibility from your life so you can live exactly how you want to live. It's classic libertarian me-first orthodoxy and when it comes from someone that's prospered all their life in a country that gave you all the tools and security that allowed you to gain wealth, education, and prestige, it's particularly grating.

Nobody wants to take everything you've worked for. In what I envision to be the perfect mix of democracy and socialism, I don't even imagine your part to be any greater than it is now because making programs such as medicine and education that are, by their very nature socialistic in design, true social programs they become infinitely more efficient and divorced from the often overreaching profit margin of privatization.

A nation with guaranteed health care for all without any influence from the insurance companies saves 30+ cents of every dollar spent, maybe even more if the compensation system for providers is greatly simplified. That's just the direct savings. Corporations in the country no longer have to take a portion of their profits and provide their workers with health benefits so they can not only pay their workers more but put more money back into their business and compete better in the world. People no longer go into bankruptcy for their medical bills (which has always been the number 1 cause) and so there's less defaulting on mortgages and credit cards. You'd think those businesses would appreciate that. Desperate people that are stuck with huge medical bills or turned away from care do what all desperate people do. Many go to crime to get out of their hole or just stick it back to the society that turned their back on them. Crime costs us all money.

Quantify that Tom. Show me a graph that takes all that into account and you'll have restored some of your credibility as a real researcher and critical thinker. I won't hold my breath though.
