I'm all for hard work and innovation being rewarded. I'm saying it's not happening because power is being concentrated and rewards are being handed out based more on power than contribution. I'm saying the capitalistic ideal is not capitalism as it's practiced in America today. Taxing the wealthy more does not eliminate the profit motive as long as they still get to keep a large portion of it. I also have to ask does it really take hundreds of millions of dollars a year to motivate soemone to do a good job? Perhaps they should hire CEOs of the type that are motivated by pride in their work who have a strong work ethic. I'm quite sure a large number of people would take the job of CEO despite all the hassles for a measly 1 million a year. I'm also sure there's a large number who would not have screwed things up as badly as many of hose in charge now.
Regards,
Mark
