I can see why you don't want to go back to when Petraeus was "a liar," Obama told us the surge would only make things worse, and month after month of legislation designed to sabotage the war. The Democrats are trying to write that out of history.
I can't wait for a couple of years from now when the meme here will be "See? Obama won the war Bush couldn't!"
The rest of your post is just smoke.
It is sadly amusing to see the debate degenerate to "we won. So what?" As if the world and the Middle East would be exactly the same if Saddam and his sons still ruled Iraq. Or life in Iraq. Even now, for every Iraqi who has died in this war, there are still about ten who died from Saddam's wars and oppression.
The only people who subscribe to the "al Qaeda loves having us in Iraq" theory are American Democrats. Certainly al Qaeda doesn't think so.
Obama is in charge of Afghanistan now, and who knows what else he might have to deal with.
So it is critically important to know what kind of Commander in Chief he will be, and his behavior in the past is not an encouraging example. I see him as someone who really doesn't like foreign policy, and like the Democrats in 1975, would just as soon shut the whole thing off, forget the war ever existed, and get back to the domestic agenda.
