"I can see why you don't want to go back to when Petraeus was "a liar,"
I can't really see why you think I'm still formulating strategy for a debate. The war is over, TB, or it it flares up again, it's going to be a whole new ball game. I'm done debating the war and what might happen in the future. We have another war, and an economic catastrophe to deal with now. Besides, right now I'm more interested in my "middle class" post above. Any comments on that?
And you still fail to face, and artfully evade, the real question about Iraq. It's not about what strategy we should have pursued to gain a military victory. What we should be talking about is why did we commit aggression and invade another country. Once we found out there were no WMDs there wasn't a moral or legal leg to stand on for us being there. That is illegal and immoral and against everything this country has ever stood for. Well, we may have gotten away with it, with minimum damage, and I'll even concede Petraeus and the Surge worked (after they sacked Rumsfeld). But its all over now.
Iraq was our Poland, and this seems to have just escaped your notice altogether. We invaded another country illegitimately and you're moving little flags around a sand table.
