John 3:16 meets Rashomon

How many times do I have to explain it to you? I tell you over and over and you just refuse to see it. What is wrong with you? I''ve made it perfectly clear...No, this is not a rebuttal, because I freely admit I cannot prove my ideas are correct and yours are not.

It's not your facts I dispute, it's how you interpret them, and how you simply dismiss or ignore any facts which dispute your beliefs.

You cannot prove or disprove a political or philosophical position with facts, any more than you can a religion with facts. All you can do is discuss the outcome of an isolated incident, and even that is often interpreted in wildy different ways by those with honest, but differing opinions. You argue like a lawyer, not an engineer. And you believe like a preacher, not a scientist.

And what gives it away is the fury, the desperation you reveal when people just simply refuse to accept your version of scripture. I can't get the image of Daffy Duck stamping up and down, sputtering in one of his shivering fits, out of my mind. "The Egyptian God of Frustration" as Bruce Boxleitner once described him on Babylon 5.

Anyone else would just say "This guy is just to dumb to figure this out, screw him", and move on to something else. But you take it so personally, as if the failure of anyone to accept your dogma, all of it, is a personal affront, or perhaps I should say, a personal threat to your world view.

Arguing with you is like arguing with an anomalist, a fundamentalist, or a conspiracy theorist. Well, not exactly, I HAVE argued with anolmalists, fundamentalists and conspiracy theorists here, but we also have been able to occasionally change the subject. With you, it's not just disagreement over a world view, its the frustration and despair that anyone COULD dispute your world view. And it always comes back to that, no matter how innocently the conversation starts.

I hate to play the Freudian card, because I've never fully accepted it myself, but it's almost as if you were afraid your belief system might not hold up to scrutiny, and that is a threat to the very foundations of your soul. You sound like a man on the edge of the abyss, pleading for reassurance and disguising it as blind assurance.

And you know I'm not just making this up, because you continue to come back again and again to push the same agenda, over and over, with the same arguments and the same endless documented irrelevancies, long after any reasonable person would have moved on to something else. And THAT, is definitely a documented fact.
