Now, figure out why you think those ideas are threatening. Who does a free man or woman endanger? The leftist elitist demands control of other people. The individualist elitist demands...what?
"That is why in a truly free society we will rule..." Writing that sentence shows you haven't grasped this yet. It seems to be impossible for you to get past "which line of thought is going to control everything?"
The word "rule" is at the root of the statist lexicon. Not mine. The only thing I have to gain from the real-world realization of my philosophy is keeping what I earn and running my own life.
The other side demands my wealth, my obedience, and sacrifice of my values to theirs. With the modern leftist Democratic Party running the show now, this is becoming grotesquely obvious. Even you have noticed it.
But you actually connect the term "dangerous" to someone who simply wants to own his own life. Think about that. Dangerous to who?
Not wanting others to loot me is perceived as a threat only by those who think it's proper for me to be looted. On the other hand, the threat posed by the looters to the non-looters is obvious.
The greatest achievement of our modern statist culture was setting up an ethical and cultural environment where the sheep, and even the lions, would trot into the slaughterhouse of their own accord, and think themselves evil if they resisted.
If you've ever actually read "Atlas Shrugged," I don't think you came away with the ideas or theme Rand intended.

- You just drove that point off the road.
- Again, that's not to say the Republicans couldn't have done a better job.
- They don't have idea people. Conservatives mistrust intellectuals. (n/t)
- To drive the point home...
- Damning with faint praise.
