Nuclear power has had 5 decades to prove itself and has failed to function economically. I wouldn't put another nickel into it. Instead of trying to ride the dead horse of nuclear power, it is high time to try something else, something cheap and practical, Sea Solar Power.
In reality, there are exactly 4 technologies (with their various implementations) that offer promise of large scale power at affordable prices.
Sea Solar
Wind (now being implemented on a medium scale, with growth increasing each year)
Biomass (ready and waiting for the green flag)
Photovoltaic (still awaiting somebody who knows how to implement it on a large scale)
That's all there is, their ain't no more! After decades of trying, nothing new has emerged, and I doubt if it will. Of course, there are many, many ways to implement the 4 above.

Another Waste of Money. We have put a trillion dollars into nuclear research already.
